SPECIAL ARLINGTON SELECT BOARD MEETING
July 29, 2021
Members Present, in person or via Zoom: Dan Harvey, Matt Bykowski, Cynthia Browning, Todd Wilkins, and Glenn Sherman

The meeting was called to order at 7:01PM
Public Comments: None
Highways: Grader Purchase: The Board and Mr. Zaiac met to approve the purchase of a new John Deere grader from Nortrax, Inc., as was discussed at Tuesday’s regularly scheduled Board meeting. The price of the machine would be drastically increasing on August 1st, which necessitated the special Board meeting.
Mr. Bykowski made a motion to approve the purchase of the John Deere grader from Nortrax Inc, for $269.000. Mr. Sherman seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Mr. Bykowski made a motion to authorize Town Administrator Nick Zaiac to work out the lease details of the purchase, to be presented at the next meeting. Mr. Sherman seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
Line Striping: The Board and Mr. Zaiac discussed two bids for line striping. One from Topkote Applicators for $5489, and one from Freshcoat for $4800. Mr. Bykowski made a motion to approve the line striping proposal to Topkote Applicators, for $5489.00. Ms. Browning seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
Other Business: Firetruck Repair: The Board and Mr. Zaiac discussed the firetruck that has a leak in the fuel tank, which was discovered during the recent pump test. The Fire Department had supplied two bids to repair the leak. One from Newmont Diesel for $2500, and one from VRS for $3500. Mr. Bykowski made a motion to approve the bid from Newmont Diesel, in the amount of $2500.00. Ms. Browning seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
Rt. 313 and Warm Brook Road. Intersection: Mr. Zaiac said the State had just announced they will be holding a meeting to allow public input and comments about the intersection of Rt. 313 and Warm Brook Road. A date has not yet been set.
Mr. Bykowski made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Wilkins seconded. Motion passed.
