ARLINGTON WATER DEPARTMENT COMMISSIONERS
MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING of Sept 8, 2025
Commissioners in Attendance: Matt Bykowski and Jamie Paustian
Commissioners Absent: Dan Harvey and Glenn Sherman
Also in Attendance: Josh Brace, Janet Barry, via Zoom.
The meeting was changed to informational only due to lack of quorum by Mr. Bykowski at 7:00PM
Mr. Brace said he had a State grant that allowed for 2.5 days of leak detection, at which time the contractor discovered eleven leaks located in various areas with a loss of 67,000 gallons of water per day. He has the list of what needs to be repaired.
He also sent letters to the over 120 day delinquent rate payers, with this week being the end of the 30 day grace period. There have been over $20,000 in payments collected and payment plans implemented. Mr. Bykowski thanked him for all his hard work but feels his time is better served in the other areas of the Water Department and it might be better to contract with a collection service for the remaining delinquencies.
With no decisions being able to be made, this will be discussed at a brief Special Water Department Meeting before the next Select Board meeting in two weeks.
