New Business

  1. Stephanie’s temporary absence:

Bylaws indicate chair of committee designates an Interim Chair. Stephanie has designated Karen Lee.

  • Bylaw revisions:

A copy of proposed bylaw revisions was distributed to committee members. Revisions include changes to alternate members, lengthening term limits, and the ability to elect a vice chair. The changes will be discussed and voted on at the next regular meeting.  Karen will distribute a draft of the revised by-laws to all members via email so that everyone has an opportunity to review before the next meeting.

  • Window Dressers update:

Karen and Jenny attended the Northshire WD meeting earlier this evening. The build is short on orders for 2024. Each committee member is tasked with finding one customer each. We are at 200 window requests now; 250 is the minimum. Publicity is underway. Jenny hung posters at all willing businesses and community boards in Arlington. Karen and Jenny will be disseminating rack cards at Arlington and Manchester farmer’s markets. Mary Anne Holmes will make an announcement at the Arlington Common movie showing next week. Posts are going out on social media. Volunteers are needed to sign up for the build. All members present agreed to sign up for volunteer slots.

  • Tracking tool update:

The Committee will have a 2-hour workshop to further completion of the Energy Tracking Tool, Thursday, August 22, 5:00 – 7:00pm at Town Hall. Joan will send some topics out in advance.

  • Sunny Side Up solar proposal for Town:

Committee received information on this agreement (more detail on Town website).

  • Open Meetings update:

Meetings will be recorded and posted on YouTube immediately after the meeting. The town YouTube channel is @TownofArlingtonVT
