Memorial Resolution
WHEREAS, Richard “Dick” Sears who represented Arlington as Senator, died in June 2024, after serving the community for more than 30 years.
WHEREAS, Senator Sears was also dedicated to helping residents of the Town not only as a long time Senator, but also as a member of the broader Arlington community.
WHEREAS Senator Sears worked tirelessly and successfully to improve Vermont’s criminal justice system, equal rights, public safety, and court reform.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the community of Arlington takes public note of its loss in the passing of this valuable and esteemed citizen; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this RESOLUTION be made a permanent part of the record of this Meeting on this date of June 17, 2024.
