Town Administrator Advisory Search Committee
The voters of Arlington approved a measure at Town Meeting in March 2019 for the Selectboard to create the position of Town Administrator.
The Selectboard wishes to acknowledge the work of the Arlington Area Renewal Project and thank them for their hard work and invaluable help in building community support for the creation of the Town Administrator position.
The Selectboard invites interested individuals from the Arlington community to apply to serve on an Advisory Search Committee. The Advisory Search Committee is voluntary and will be appointed by the Selectboard through an application process that is open to the public.
The Advisory Search Committee will be comprised of and constituted as follows:
- Any members of the Selectboard who wish to participate on this Committee.
- Three to five at-large members of the Community.
- Members of the Advisory Search Committee should be available to serve from July to November 2019.
The duties of the Advisory Search Committee will be to help draft and finalize the job description for the position of Town Administrator, initiate a job search for qualified candidates, review all applications and conduct interviews with all applicants. The Advisory Search Committee will narrow the search and bring up to three finalists to the full Selectboard for the final hiring decision.
The job posting shall be out to the public on or before September 1, 2019 with the three finalists identified by October 1, 2019. Final selection for the position should be completed by November 1, 2019 for a January 2020 hiring.
