Arlington Select Board Special Meeting March 18, 2024 Minutes

Members Attending: Jamie Paustian, Dan Harvey, Cynthia Browning, Glenn Sherman, Todd Wilkins

Members absent:

Others present: Nick Zaiac, Steve McClafferty, John Toth

1. CALL TO ORDER at 8:00 pm

2. Additions and Deletions to the agenda

Member Wilkins made a motion to add an executive session for a personnel issue to the agenda, seconded by Member Browning. Approved unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS

Member Browning made a motion to ratify and accept the actions of the Board that were taken at the meeting on 3/11, as such actions are reflected in the meeting minutes. Seconded by Member Paustian. Approved unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS

Member Paustian read the two quotes requested by the Board for award of radio upgrades for the Fire Department. One quote was from Central Vermont Communications for $6014.43, the other was from Utility Communications Inc for $6247.70. He then made a motion to award the purchase to Central Vermont Communications for the amount listed. Seconded by Member Wilkins. Approved unanimously.

OTHER BUSINESS

Member Browning noted a citizen approached her regarding a drainage issue in East Arlington. The Board confirmed there is no action to be taken at this time. She reiterated a previous request for the Town Administrator to produce further project planning documents, which TA Zaiac agreed with.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Member Browning made a motion that premature discussion of a personnel matter would cause the municipality to suffer substantial disadvantage. Seconded by Member Sherman. Approved unanimously.

Member Browning made a motion to enter into an Executive Session for discussion of a personnel matter and allow Town Administrator Zaiac to remain in the room. Seconded by Member Wilkins. Approved unanimously.

Entered at 8:10. Exited at 8:18 with nothing to report.

ADJOURNMENT: Motion to adjourn Member Wilkins, Seconded by Member Browning, motion carried unanimously adjourned 8:18 pm
